Frodo is a good C64 emulator for Windows, as it uses DirectX to full effect, the quality of emulation is very high. Its user interface is a bit weak and not as easy to use as it should be, but it does have most of the options you will require. Running the C64 in a small window on your desktop is possible and with a fast processor the results are impressive. Other machines are also catered for, versions for Amiga and Macintosh and other computer platforms are available.

The text excerpt below is taken from the Official Frodo 64 website, the home of Frodo:
Frodo V4.1 by Christian Bauer is a free, portable C64 emulator for BeOS, Unix, MacOS, AmigaOS, RiscOS and WinNT/95 systems. Frodo has not been updated for quite a while because I've been working on other projects (GiNaC, Basilisk II, ...). However, I'm currently doing a complete rewrite of the code for Frodo V5. It will use an event-based emulation like UAE or VICE because the current line-based model has already been stretched beyond its feasibility. Also, the fantastic SDL will be used as the low-level graphics/sound/input library.

In the main category of the games database you will find C64 game content for use with the Frodo emulator.
